Facial Recognition
Does this emerging technology place civil-liberties in jeopardy?

This technology may be used in policing sooner than you think.

The technology not only reads plates but can identify the make and model of vehicles even without a plate. If a warrant is attached to the vehicle’s plate the program alerts the officer and they can investigate further whether the driver is the person they are looking for. Also mentioned by a Sgt. Daniel Gomez of the Los Angeles Police “…the department might also incorporate facial recognition technology in the future, following a dialogue with the local community, over civil liberties concerns.”
